Offering variation products as upsells allows customers to select the variants they need, increasing the likelihood of upsell offers being displayed in your store. This strategy effectively boosts both your average order value (AOV) and revenue.
Example: How to display variant products on the UpsellWP
How to display variant products on Checkout Upsell campaign
Go to WordPress dashboard -> UpsellWP -> Create New Campaign -> choose “Checkout Upsell”
Click on the button “Add offer”
Here is the screenshot of the offer configuration that follows,
Step 1: Choose the variant offer product that you want to display on the checkout page by typing a few characters of the product name and leaving the quantity column blank to automatically assign a quantity of 1 for the selected offer product or adjust the quantity based on your requirement.
Step 2: Choose the “Discount Type” as Percentage and set the value as 50%. You also have the option to choose other discount types such as fixed discount, free and No discount.
Step 3: You can also add Additional Conditions for the Campaign (if required).
Step 4: Once we have successfully created an offer, click on the button “Save”
Now, we have successfully created an offer, Let see how it works on the checkout page.

Go to WordPress dashboard -> UpsellWP -> Create New Campaign -> choose “Cart Upsell”
Click on the button “Add offer”

Step 1: Choose “All Products” in the filters, select “Specific product” in the product suggestion method for the campaign and choose the variant product.
Options available in product suggestion methods are:
Use Related Products: With this option, we make use of WooCommerce's Related Products feature. It figures out which products are related to the one you just bought by looking at things like the same tags or categories. So, for example, if you buy a bag, after you finish your order, you'll see other bag-related products on the Thank You Page.
Use Cross-Sell Products: When you choose this option, we'll show you products that are set as "Cross-Sell" in the "Linked Products" section on the product creation page.
Use Upsell Products: When you choose this option, we'll show you products that are set as "Upsell" in the "Linked Products" section on the product creation page.
Specific Products: With this option, we can display specific products chosen here.

Step 2: Now click “Save and close” the campaign
Now, that we have successfully created an offer, Let's see how it works on the product page.
When you click the "Add to Cart" button, a popup will appear allowing you to select the product variation. From there, you can choose the variation that best suits your needs.
