Introduction:

The WooCommerce Cart Add-on feature is a valuable addition to the WooCommerce platform built for WordPress. It enhances the functionality of your online store by allowing you to offer optional add-on products or services to customers as they shop. This feature provides a seamless and convenient way for customers to enhance their shopping experience by adding complementary items or services to their cart.

For example, A customer is purchasing a birthday cake for $30. With the Cart Addon feature, you can offer the Birthday Card for $3, and the Candle Set for $2 below the product during the Cart page

This user guide explains creating a Cart Add-on campaign using .

Example Scenarios:

  1. Percentage Discount: Provide a discount on the Cart Add-on offer product (e.g., 10% off on the Cap when a customer purchases a T-shirt).

  2. Free Discount: Offer the Cart Add-on product for free for the Custom Products.

  3. No Discount: Display the Cart Add-on product on the cart page without a discount on all products added to the Cart.

Please note that before proceeding, you must have installed and activated the UpsellWP PRO.

Let us get started,

Example 1: Percentage discount: Provide a discount on the Cart Add-on upsell offer product (e.g., 10% off on the Cap when a customer purchases a T-shirt).

In this scenario, when the customer adds a T-shirt to the cart they have a discount on the Cap (Cart Add-on upsell offer product ) of 10% on the cart page before proceeding to checkout.

Creating an offer:

  • Go to WordPress dashboard -> UpsellWP -> Create Campaign -> choose “Cart Add-ons”

Here is the screenshot of the offer configuration that follows,

The details of the configurations are:

Step 1: Choose the Specific Product "T-shirt" in the filter section you want to display on the cart page by typing a few characters of the product name.

Step 2: Choose the Product suggestion method as "Specific Product" and choose "Cap" by typing a few characters of the product name.

Options available in product suggestion methods are:

  • Use Related Products: With this option, we make use of WooCommerce's Related Products feature. It figures out which products are related to the one you just bought by looking at things like the same tags or categories. So, for example, if you buy a bag, after you finish your order, you'll see other bag-related products on the Thank You Page.

  • Use Cross-Sell Products: When you choose this option, we'll show you products that are set as "Cross-Sell" in the "Linked Products" section on the product creation page.

  • Use Upsell Products: When you choose this option, we'll show you products that are set as "Upsell" in the "Linked Products" section on the product creation page.
